Floating & open-riser staircases
Custom staircases are our signature trade and the main reason many clients find us. Most remodelers subcontract stairs across four companies — a steel fabricator, a wood shop, a glazier and an installer. Every handoff costs a tolerance. We handle the stringer, the treads, the railing and the installation ourselves, which is why our stairs land level across every riser and tight to the wall.
Mono-stringer and double-stringer steel structures, cantilevered treads, open risers and floating landings — engineered for the span, the load and Florida code before fabrication begins.
Glass railings
Frameless and semi-frameless tempered and laminated glass guards, base-shoe and standoff systems, and slim top caps in hardwood, stainless or powder-coated steel. Glass is templated after the structure is set so the panels fit the stair as built, not as drawn.

Cable railings
Stainless cable infill with tensioned runs and concealed terminations, in vertical or horizontal configurations. Posts are engineered for cable tension loads — a detail that's routinely underestimated and shows up later as deflection.
Custom handrails
Solid hardwood handrails in white oak, walnut and ash, with continuous returns, mitred transitions and hand-finished profiles. Metal handrails in brushed stainless, blackened steel and powder-coat where the design calls for it.

LED staircase lighting
Integrated tread lighting, recessed step lights and concealed handrail LED runs, wired and dimmable, detailed into the structure during fabrication rather than surface-mounted afterwards.
Modern staircase renovations
Replacing a dated closed staircase inside an occupied home is among the more disruptive things you can do to a house, and it's routine work for us. We sequence it to keep the upper floor accessible, protect the surrounding finishes, and stage fabrication so site time stays short.

Residential & commercial staircases
Alongside custom homes, we build lobby and office staircases where the specification, inspection and deadline pressures are higher. Our commercial work includes full construction packages delivered against fixed public opening dates.
Our staircase installation process
Laser-measured site survey, engineered shop drawings for your approval, fabrication and dry-fit in the shop, then installation — structure first, treads second, glass and cable last so nothing finished is exposed to the rest of the build.

Florida building code & engineering
Staircases are among the most heavily code-governed elements in a house, and South Florida adds its own layer. Guard height, maximum opening between balusters or cables, riser and tread consistency, headroom, handrail graspability and continuity, and structural load are all inspected. Open-riser and floating designs concentrate load into fewer connection points, so the stringer, its connections and the supporting structure have to be engineered rather than assumed. Where a design needs sign-off, we coordinate the structural engineering and submit it with the permit.
Materials & finishes
Tread material sets the character of the whole stair. White oak is the most requested, stable and neutral. Walnut reads warmer and more dramatic but is softer underfoot. Ash offers a lighter, more contemporary grain at lower cost. Treads are typically laminated for thickness and stability rather than cut from solid stock, which avoids the cupping a single wide board will eventually show. Steel is primed and powder-coated or finished in a hand-applied blackened patina; glass is tempered or laminated to code.
Why the in-house model matters here
On a subcontracted staircase, the steel is fabricated from drawings, the treads are made elsewhere to the steel's nominal dimensions, and the glazier templates last. Every party works to their own tolerance, and the accumulated error shows up as uneven reveals, gaps at the wall and risers that vary by a few millimeters across the flight. Because we measure, fabricate and install, we carry one tolerance through the whole assembly and adjust in the shop rather than on site.
What a staircase project involves
Expect a site survey, a drawing set, a fabrication period, a short structural installation window, and then a return visit for glass or cable once adjacent finishes are complete. In an occupied home we stage it so the upper floor stays reachable for as much of the process as possible. The stair is protected until the surrounding work is finished, and we return to remove protection and complete the final adjustments.
Frequently asked questions
Do you actually build staircases in-house?
Yes. The steel stringer, the hardwood treads, the railing system and the installation are all ours. That's unusual among South Florida remodelers and it's why our stairs land tight and level.
Can you replace a staircase in a house I'm living in?
Yes, and we do it regularly. We sequence the work to keep the upper floor accessible where possible, protect surrounding finishes, and pre-fabricate off site so the disruptive phase is short.
What railing options do you offer?
Frameless and semi-frameless glass, stainless cable infill, solid hardwood handrails and metal railings in stainless, blackened steel or powder-coat. All engineered to Florida guard-height and load requirements.
Can you add LED lighting to the stairs?
Yes: integrated tread lighting, recessed step lights and concealed handrail runs. It's designed into the structure during fabrication, which looks far better than anything added afterwards.
How long does a custom staircase take?
Fabrication lead time after drawing approval, then a comparatively short installation window. Your proposal gives you dated stages rather than a vague range.
